6 Creative Ways Campuses are Using OrgSync
August 29, 2012
All across the country institutions have been using OrgSync in creative and exciting ways. So often we get caught up in how we traditionally do things on campus, we don’t always explore new and innovative ways. With OrgSync, not only do you give students the tools to manage their organizations but you also empower other stakeholders across campus to help improve their own processes and enhance their programs. We just thought we’d take a minute to highlight some of the unique things a few of our campus partners are doing with OrgSync.
| Presidential Debate Volunteer Management The University of Denver has been chosen as a host university for one of the 2012 Presidential Debates. They have set up an OrgSync portal to manage their student committees charged with ensuring the success of such a prestigious event. They are running everything from committee applications to volunteer management. |
National Collegiate Leadership Conference (NCLC) |
Full Conference Planning Each year the University of Arizona hosts NCLC, the largest entirely student-run leadership conference in the nation. They have migrated all conference planning over to an OrgSync portal including staff management, registration and payments, public website, and to-do items for the planning committees. |
Freshman Leadership Programs |
Incorporation of ePortfolio Sul Ross State University manages their Freshman Leadership Programs in an OrgSync portal. They have successfully incorporated the ePortfolio as part of the required coursework for this program. This requirement encourages students to start tracking their participation and creating their personal brand as soon as they arrive on campus. |
Box Office |
Room Reservations for Box Office Many schools have started to move the purchase of tickets and other university gear to OrgSync. Ole Miss is also posting room policies and guidelines for the the use of space. |
| Student Center Poster Printing DePaul has integrated OrgSync into every aspect of their Division of Student Affairs. From large processes to small, students are accustomed to going through OrgSync to get work done. One innovative example of this is student organizations must complete a form in the Student Centers portal to have posters approved and printed for the common space in the center. |
| Posting Menus to Community In an effort to save paper, UAB has begun to post menus for campus restaurants online in an OrgSync portal. They also host special lunches and allow the community to RSVP for the events directly through the portal. |
We know there are plenty of other creative ways partners are using portals and we’d love to hear about them. Please share the cool things you are doing in the comments section of this post or with your campus consultant. We’d love to hear about it and spotlight you too!
